Bright Spot Marketing

It takes courage to look on the bright side.

From ROBERT C. BRACE

“If you don’t use magical marketing, you only have half a business…”  Papa said.
He grabbed the remote and punched the mute button.

“And we’re back! Game 7 of the 2002 World Series, the Anaheim Angels vs. the San Fransisco Giants!” the announcer said.

We turned back to the TV but I couldn’t get his words out of my head…

“You can’t make people happy if they don’t know about you.  No matter how good you are.”

Be good at marketing.  Customers want you to help them, to delight them.”

“The world needs more happy customers.

God knew I wouldn’t be accepted to any prestigious colleges.

He knew I wouldn’t get a business or marketing degree.

But He knew I would watch baseball.  He knew I would listen to my grandpa.

He always knows best.

A quick "Can I Help?" test...

1) Do your customers leave with a smile splitting their face and rave about you to all their friends?

2) Could you handle a lot more customers every month?

Some business owners have to say “No.”

That’s okay.

I recommend reading Be Like Amazon and TRACTION.

If you said “Yes” without flinching, drinks are on me.

TRUE STATEMENTS...

The best new customers don’t hear about you “online.”
They hear about you on the radio, on TV or from a friend.

New customers almost always “check you out” online.
If your online doesn’t match your offline, your customers will be sad.

Getting new customers is hard and costs a lot.
Doing hard things is kinda what life is all about.

Hard things are easier when you have the right Partner.

If you had 5 happy customers yesterday…
…we can help you get 10 happy customers tomorrow.

Our world needs more happy customers.

Also…

Your kids should work in the business, if they want to.

If your kids want to work with you, you’re probably doing something right.

WEIRD THINGS...

1.  I’m not on Facebook, have no personal website, and I don’t carry a smart phone.

2.  Don’t be predictable.  Do be consistent.

3.  Don’t answer questions no one is asking.  Do stand for what you believe.

I learned from a famous radio ad writer who never listens to the radio.

Told you this was going to get weird.

You’re still reading this?   I like you already.
